Why Montefiore Deserves Your Support.

Charitable gifts both large and small help sustain Montefiore's exceptional programs of patient care, scientific research, medical education and community service.

  • Montefiore operates three acute care hospitals, a Children's Hospital and community-based centers throughout the Bronx and Southern Westchester.
  • As the University Hospital for the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Montefiore has an outstanding faculty dedicated to patient care, education and research. More than 800 residents and fellows are enrolled in our program of medical education, which is among the nation's largest and most robust.
  • Care to the community and the disadvantaged is a central tenet of the Montefiore mission. Offering health care to the homeless, school-based health services and a Child Advocacy Center for young victims of abuse or neglect, quality heath care is accessible to all, regardless of ability to pay.

The Children's Hospital at Montefiore was created to foster new ways of meeting the health care needs of children and their families. We invite you to take a tour of what Fast Company Magazine describes as "The most inspiring hospital in the World!"

  • With 106 beds, this state-of-the-art hospital delivers state-of-the-heart care across the full range of pediatric subspecialties.
  • Pediatric specialists in a dedicated Emergency Department treat children for trauma, psychiatric emergencies and both routine and acute medical care needs. A designated Asthma Suite attends to young patients suffering acute asthma attacks.
  • An innovative "day hospital" offers a comfortable environment for children who need chemotherapy, dialysis or other outpatient treatments that do not require an overnight admission.
  • A renowned staff of pediatric oncologists offers the only services in the Bronx for children with complex illnesses such as leukemia, brain tumors, lymphoma and sickle cell anemia.
  • Specialists in pediatric otolaryngology enable deaf children to hear in the only program in the Bronx and Westchester that provides cochlear implants.
  • A prominent Center for Craniofacial Disorders provides life-changing interventions for patients with birth defects of the face, head or neck. Montefiore surgeons received international acclaim in 2004 for the groundbreaking separation of twins who were conjoined at the head.
  • This exceptional health care resource is supported by caring individuals, responsible corporations and generous foundations with a shared vision: that every child deserves the best medical care available. We are grateful for all their generous gifts, both large and small, that sustain The Children's Hospital at Montefiore and enable us to offer exceptional health care to all, regardless of ability to pay.
